(Amdafock, 16 May 2026 – LNC) In the north-east of the Central African Republic, there are population movements reportedly caused by threats attributed to armed men from neighbouring Sudan. In Amdafock, located in Vakaga, the town has for several days been experiencing a significant influx of displaced people from surrounding towns, who believe they will find greater safety there. Local authorities acknowledge that the humanitarian situation is a cause for concern. They say the town’s capacity to accommodate people remains limited in the face of the growing number of displaced persons. Various humanitarian needs are becoming increasingly urgent. This case illustrates once again the fragile security situation in the border areas between the Central African Republic and Sudan. While awaiting potential humanitarian assistance, Amdafock is attempting to cope with a situation that is placing a heavy strain on its already limited resources.
