Gilbert Toumou-Deya Grants Audience to Anti-Balaka

(Bangui, June 28, 2026 – LNC) Gilbert Toumou-Deya, Minister Delegate for Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration, and Repatriation (DDRR), received a delegation from the Anti-Balaka movement (Mokom faction) in Bangui on June 18. The meeting took place within the framework of implementing the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in the Central African Republic (APPR-RCA). The Anti-Balaka delegation was led by Ndoutinam Pépin, representing the movement's coordinator; he discussed prospects for continuing the peace process and the reintegration of combatants with ministry officials. Several senior staff members from the DDRR department attended the meeting. According to information leaked from the ministry, discussions reportedly focused on the modalities for the disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration of the armed group's members, in accordance with the provisions of the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation. The issue of the movement's dissolution was also addressed during the talks. However, no concrete decisions or timelines were made public following the meeting.
