(Bozoum on October 10, 2026, the LNC) Great tension in Bozoum, in the Ouham-Pendé, where merchants are angry, to the point of doing a dead day last Wednesday by closing shops, which has somewhat disrupted some commercial activities. Reason for this irritation: the implementation by local authorities, under pressure from Bangui, of a new customs structure. However, the precise reasons for their opposition, including any concerns about the impact of this measure on their activities, have not been detailed. Aware of the blockage, local authorities have decided to organize a mediation meeting on Thursday.
The outcome of this consultation could make it possible to determine the conditions for setting up the new customs post and address the concerns of traders.
But for the moment, no information has been communicated on the reasons of the grumbling of the traders, nor on the conclusions of the meeting even less on a possible resumption of commercial activities.
