DCA and its "Agents of Change" project

(Bangui, July 28, 2026 | LNC) Funded by France, the organization DCA is highlighting its "Agents of Change" project, despite facing some challenges along the way. The project aims to foster women's empowerment and mobilize communities for equality and peace. According to Joël Appora Gnekindy, the DCA project manager, the initiative operated for 12 months across several locations, including Bangui, Bégoua, Landja, Sibut, Ngoumbélé, and their surrounding areas. Following the activities conducted with Central African communities, results show that the project achieved a flawless track record with a 100% success rate. Specifically, 225 young people participated in capacity-building, leadership, and community mobilization activities. Additionally, 100 young women received support to develop income-generating activities, while 80 men and women took part in the EMAP (Engaging Men Through Accountable Practice) approach to promote positive masculinity and more equitable relationships. In the same vein, 19 community committee members, 75 youth volunteers, 166 local authorities and community/religious leaders, as well as 25 members of "husbands' clubs," were trained and involved in awareness-raising and community mobilization efforts. Given these excellent results, DCA expresses its gratitude to all its benefactors, including the French Embassy in the Central African Republic, for their support and confidence. However, a few setbacks have marred the DCA’s remarkable progress on the "Actrices du Changement" (Agents of Change) project—specifically, the deterioration of roads and the nationwide elections held last December, which also slowed the project's implementation; consequently, the organization was forced to wait until the election campaigns and voting had concluded before resuming its activities.
