By Antoinette KODROGUÉ | LNC Translated into English by Isabella Luisa CAPELLI l LAMINE MÉDIA
(Bangui, May 9, 2026 - LNC) The National Elections Authority (ANE) published the results of the second round of the legislative and by-elections held on April 26, 2026, last night. This announcement was originally scheduled for April 4, but the publication was delayed by a strike of IT staff at the ANE's data processing center. They were demanding payment of two months of back wages. Of the 54 available seats, 48 were filled. The ANE released the names of the elected officials without specifying their political affiliation. These elected officials join the 90 parliamentarians elected in the first round. In the eight constituencies where the results were invalidated in the first round, five candidates were elected. A second round will be necessary for the remaining three. Note that despite Touadéra's own instructions not to vote for him, Anicet Dologuélé was elected deputy in the Bocaranga 1 constituency with 52% of the vote.
