(Bangui, July 22, 2026 | LNC) The Bangui High Court has delivered its verdict in the case of Kossimatchi—a key supporter of the incumbent regime. He was sentenced to a four-month suspended prison term, ordered to pay a fine of 100,000 CFA francs to the public treasury and a symbolic 1 franc in damages to the civil party, and banned from producing live videos on social media for six months. He had been prosecuted for public insults, contempt, and making threats against government members and Minister-Inspector General Roméo Gribingui.
The affair began in June 2026 with a video in which Kossimatchi attacked government members, describing them as "stinking" and incompetent. Following this incident, he was brought to trial. However, the matter is not yet closed, as he has appealed the judgment.
