Ministry of Youth and UNICEF Renew Ties

(Bangui, 22 May 2026 – LNC) After several years of mutual snubs, the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Civic Education signed a joint annual work plan with UNICEF in Bangui on 29 April, covering the period 2025–2027, resulting in a donation of $2.2 million from UNICEF (not the other way round, as the CAR has no money). And of course, a ceremony was required to seal the deal; this took place under the leadership of the Minister for Youth. And what will the Ministry do with this money? It aims to strengthen initiatives in the areas of civic education, youth civic engagement, sport as a lever for social cohesion, and the promotion of youth participation in national development. All that! Present at the ceremony, the Minister for Youth, Héritier Doneng, delivered his usual spiel of thanks, saying that the money would be put to good use and other such nonsense.
