Bangui Chess Open 2026

(Bangui, August 1, 2026 | LNC) Well, a bit of publicity for a change ♟️. On this August 1st, the Cité Christophe Chess Club is participating in the Bangui Open 2026, organized by the Central African Chess Federation (F.C.E). Because a Central African Chess Federation (F.C.E) actually exists. It kicked off at 8:00 AM (local time). If it were a checkers tournament, one could understand—that game is very popular—but chess? As a local woman from Bangui might say, "it's for white people"; and one only has to look at where it's taking place to realize that.
