(Paris, July 18, 2026 | LNC) Central African singer Strong Berry—better known by his stage name, Wozo Pipôl—has been detained in Paris (France). He had traveled to the city for a concert, according to Armand Touaboy, president of the Union of Central African Musicians (UMCA). "Yes, Strong Berry was detained due to certain formalities that were reportedly not properly completed. This appears to be the reason for his detention. At the moment, the Embassy of the Central African Republic in France is in discussions with French authorities to find a solution to the situation." As of now, French authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the exact circumstances of the detention. Discussions between Central African diplomatic representatives and French authorities are ongoing.
